mwfgTarija o mwfwSan Bernardo de Tarija è un mwgacomune (mwgqmunicipio in mwggspagnolo) della mwgwBolivia nella mwhaprovincia di Cercado (mwhqdipartimento di Tarija) con mwhg179 528 abitanti (dato mwhw2012).

La città venne fondata il 4 luglio mwiq1574 con il nome di mwigVilla de San Bernardo de la Frontera de Tarixacite-ref-1[1] dal mwjwsivigliano Luis de Fuentes y Vargas, sulla riva sinistra del fiume Nuevo Guadalquivir, seguendo gli ordini del Viceré mwkgFrancisco de Toledo. Il nome è un tributo a Francisco de Tarija, anch'egli mwlaandaluso e membro della spedizione guidata da mwlqDiego de Almagro.
